pictures of Rae

my blabbering

Lately, Raegan is so non-stop, I barely have time to go to the bathroom. I think my daughter has more energy than anyone else on earth. Sitting still is not in her vocabulary unless she is eating and she's the world's fastest eater (which actually is every 2 hours. whole meals every 2 hours!!) We have soooooo much fun. We laugh at her and the things she does constantly. If I can figure out how, I will post some funny pics of her.

On a totally different subject, I've been having bad luck in the kitchen lately...my oven and I are just not getting along. It's probably things no one else would notice, but I am starting to notice. Baking is how I cope, think, sort things out, bring smiles to peoples faces. C'mon oven...please cooperate. I'm baking two cakes for a party we are going to this weekend. Don't let me down.

I never knew I would be talking to my oven through my blog...

anaphalactic shock (sp?)

At 5:45 a.m. the morning after Thanksgiving, we woke up to Raegan looking like Will Smith in the movie Hitch after he had eaten shellfish... HUGELY swollen everywhere!! Also known as anaphalactic shock. Her eyes were completely swollen shut, her lips were about 20 times their usual size, and her ears were swollen and covered in a rash that also covered most of her body. We have no idea what caused it, but we are on a mission to find out starting tomorrow morning at 10 a.m. We are going to see a pediatric allergist and internist tomorrow. In the last 2 days, she has had some minor reactions like red patchy bumps around her lips to some of her normal foods and some new ones. I'm anxious to see what she actually is allergic to just so I can be more prepared and not scared every time I feed her something not made at home. Pray that we find out everything we need to know tomorrow so we don't have to go through this anymore!!

sweet and sour

Raegan is 15 1/2 months and I gotta say, this age is sooo incredibly sweet!! She is a firecracker. She is constantly on the move unless she is taking her joyous nap (joyous for mom I say). She LOVES to be tickled and chased, so she will purposefully run into a dead end (favorites are closets and the pantry) so she CAN get caught. She is obsessed with raisins and her shoes. Her laughs are some of of the best parts of my day. The sour parts are struggling to understand what she wants and is trying to say. She wants to be so independent but so dependent at the same time. I love seeing her face when she masters things in her world, most recently being the light switch. She has a lot of words down, but most everything is requested by unh! unh! unh! and a point of her usually sticky finger. She is starting to mimic, so I will be praying that the way I live my life will set a good example for her. Israel and I are loving this stage even though it can be difficult at times because we know it will be gone tomorrow.

Ramirez Road has begun

So, here it is...the Ramirez Family blog. I've never done this before, so don't be alarmed if it's kinda lame at first. I hope to get better as the road gets traveled :)
